That1Thing Presents

Backpack 2nd Annual Back to School Event

Join That1Thing, Kids Hope USA, and a host of others as we deliver on the promise of shared values, and shared responsibility. Last year we had a great time delivering backpacks, school supplies, and uniforms to kids in the DFW area. Waffle House® even got involved by serving free breakfast for all the kids and their families.

This year it will be even greater. The event will be held August 10th at Arborlawn United Methodist Church. We will have Dr. Emery Huber  who will be providing Children’s Vision Screening.  Dr. Angela Hodges will be available to answer questions about healthy school lunches, nutrition, and diabetes. The Tarrant Area Food Bank  will have information available about their programs like Food for Kids, Backpacks for Kids and Summer Packs for Kids.

That1Thing is a manner that reflects a person’s values and attitude. It’s a movement where people believe in doing That1Thing to make a difference. There are three important days in your life with the last one being the most important. The day you were born, the day you find That1Thing, and the most important is the day you begin to share it. Zoe and Chloe are a part of That1Thing’s movement. They were encouraged to find Their1Thing. After noticing not all students had the school supplies they needed to start the year. They said, “Wouldn’t it be cool if we could give kids backpacks and school supplies?” That1Thing can make a world of difference in a child’s life.   The Power Of 1 Backpack was born from this simple desire.  These young enthusiasts understand that, “Every life, needs another Life.” Chloe and Zoe are passionate about the lives of others, and are grateful to be able to share Their1Thing. They want to continue to share backpacks with children in their community this year. In an effort to do so, they need you.
